School Interview: Blueprint Education PDF Print E-mail
If you are looking for a program with a long history, you should take a look at this interview with Blueprint Education.

1. Can you give us a general introduction to your school?

Blueprint Education , formerly Phoenix Special Programs, had its early beginnings back in the mid 1920’s through the Phoenix Union High School District.  Back then as a pioneer in correspondence education, teachers would take lesson packets to the children of migrant farm workers out in the fields during harvest cycles.  At this time children were unable to travel into school because they were part of the harvesting process with their families.  In 1969, we were incorporated and became an independent private non-profit organization serving non-traditional student needs.  In 2005, we changed our name to Blueprint Education and rebranded ourselves to reflect an organization with an even stronger focus on finding new ways to achieve student success.

2. Who is your typical student (or students)?

Typically, you will find a diverse group of students at various stages in their lives all striving to obtain their high school diploma.  So our typical student does not fall in one category.  We have:

  • students who are Olympic athletes
  • students who are pursuing acting or entertainment industry careers
  • students who started their families at an early age and still want to get their diploma
  • students who failed certain courses in school and want to make them up to stay on track to graduate
  • students who just don’t feel comfortable in school and need to learn outside that environment
  • students who have had serious health conditions that do not allow them to attend school regularly
  • students who travel abroad a lot with their families and don’t have time to sit in class

Their stories are all over the map but their intentions are all the same…to obtain a high school diploma.

3. What makes your school unique?

Being a non-profit entity allows us to focus on student success, not the bottom line.  We continually evaluate various components of our organization to ensure that our goals direct back to enhancement of student success.  Whether that’s reviewing current curriculum alignments, checking on operational procedures, brainstorming with teachers, or developing better survey techniques to solicit valuable information, Blueprint Education doesn’t go on hiatus.  Things are constantly changing around us and we recognize these and strive to find the best mix of ideas that enhance a student’s experience with us.

4. Why should a student choose your school?

Students need to reflect on what is important to them and what their ultimate goals are.  From there they should do diligent research to find a school that best matches their needs.  We may not fit everyone’s particular needs and that’s okay.  For those that can mesh their needs with our services, we offer a truly caring family environment that will provide students with the tools they need based on their desire, motivation, and readiness to work.

5. Is there any other information you would like to share?

Blueprint Education doesn't spend money on fancy ads or expensive collateral. Our focus is to develop high quality, challenging curriculum that will foster learning and encourage student growth both academically and emotionally. Word of mouth has been our foundation for almost four decades and hearing about individuals today who actually experienced our program between three and four decades ago is certainly a testament to our longevity and credibility in this industry. There's a lot of substance behind our name and everyone at Blueprint Education is proud to be a part of this new era of learning.
