My question is I have about 5 units left to finish my high school diploma. I would rather finish them then try to take the GED. What schools would you recommend? And, upon completion of these programs would I be issued a diploma?

The problem with talking about units and high school is that it means different things to different people. Out here in California, that equals a one-semester course and then you are done. In other parts of the country it can mean 5 year-long courses.

Either way, you want to choose a program that will let you pay by the course and that offers a diploma. A number of the programs on this site (see: MU High School and University of Miami Online High School) offer this.

Another choice is the North Dakota Center for Distance Education (formerly the North Dakota Division of Independent Study). It offers individual courses for a reasonable amount of money.

All of those programs offer a regionally-accredited diploma. Looking around at the schools listed here would provide you with additional options.

Other questions?
