South African schools are in shambles. Under the new law distance learners cannot do matric after completing grade 10, which was the case up to now. All of a sudden all students with Grade 10 are scrambling to get an institution from which they can complete grade 11. The subjects are very limited and I find it difficult see my daughter fall apart because she is not a mathematician or scientist, but does well in learning facts like geography and history etc. She does music and singing lessons, but theres no place in distance learning in SA for that. Can she do the rest of her high school on an overseas based system. She is finishing grade 10 (standard 7) this term.

I think that this is a great and common question. There are really two parts:
1. Can I earn an online high school diploma (probably from a U.S. school) in my country; and
2. Will my country accept that diploma as valid?
The first question is easy. Many of the only high schools gladly accept international students. It makes perfect sense. Since there is no residency requirement (you attending classes somewhere), the process is a simple one.
However, the second question is one that you will want to research. Whether a diploma from a U.S.-based online high school will be acceptable in your country is most often up to your ministry (or department) of education.
You will want to start there to make sure it will be acceptable for college enrollment and for employment purposes.
