I have a 16 year old son who has always struggled in public school and fails most of his classes. He has ADD which I believe is part of the problem as well as low self esteem issues because of his failures. We have had him in summer school the past two years to make up credits and he actually prefers summer school to traditional school and always does well. This past summer his summer classes consisted of online classes through his school He did exceptionally well and actually went through the classes very quickly and passed with high grades. I am thinking this might be the type of learning he needs. I have been checking and right now I am looking at Keystone, National High School and possibly Park City Independent. I am willing to pay the fees on any of these schools. I can spend around $4000 per year. I am leaning towards Keystone, because they have a math refresher course,(which is my son's worst subject) and have been around a long time There is also a Park City Independent which has a math program that the school says finds the foundations the student is lacking and progresses them through them, before putting them into the full math courses. Any ideas on which you think is a better school and have you had complaints or good comments on any of them? If you have any other ideas I would welcome them.
Thanks
dawn

In reviewing my post, I realized that it looks like I am only looking at Keystone and Park City Independent- I am also considering National High School.

I think those are reasonable choices. Given the amount of money that you are willing to spend, I would also encourage you to look at some of the other schools here. I don't know very much about Park City Independent (either good or bad), but I have heard quite a bit about Keystone and National High School. As a matter of fact, I just had a current National student write and tell me how much she likes that program.

You may also want to look at:

Laurel Springs School

Kaplan High School

The American Academy

I think you would be pleased with the support that they offer.

Further questions?
