Homeschool curriculum 2008/07/17 18:05 Karma: 0
Hi,

I am a homeschooled student and well, sometimes it can be hard on me since my parent speaks and understands mainly Spanish. So I was wondering if you could please tell me what sort of homeschool curriculum is best for me: online or books? If it is online I would need a free online high school since our financial income is not that high. Whichever, could you also please tell me what the curriculum is called?

Thanks

This is a great question and one that I get more often than folks would imagine.

My first question, though, needs to be:

What state do you live in?

That makes a huge difference in what the answer might be.

Best,

Oh yeah and also I am enrolled under a private school (Allendale Academy) of wich will give me a high school diploma. Plus I have looked at Florida Virtual School and they are accredited by The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and The Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation. Are those good accreditations? And is FLVS a great virtual school?

Thank you .....sorry I ask so many questions!

That's funny. I was just about to tell you all about Florida Virtual School. It is likely the best choice for you. It has the accreditation - SACS & CITA - that is very important and it seems to provide a great deal of support.

Given the language situation in your home, that may be a good choice for you. One nice thing is that there is no cost involved. Something you may not know is that FVS has such a solid program that it licenses its curriculum to schools in other states.

Thoughts/Questions?
