Fergus Falls School Board has opportunity to show intelligence
March 12th, 2008In the shaping online high schools “wars” (yes, folks, you heard about it here first), the winners will be those who recognized the need to offer instruction online. The bigger winners will be the ones who were able to lock down a territory. Take, for example, Fergus Falls, in Minnesota, who is having talks with KC Distance Learning. KCDL has started iQ Academies in several states and now would like to do so in Minnesota. If Fergus Falls bites, they will be the sole district offering those courses in their state.
And that would be a very smart thing.

The Fergus Falls school board on Monday decided to explore a contract with KC Distance Learning, a provider of online high school courses. The company, which has created iQ Academies in states across the country, would create an online program exclusively with Fergus Falls and no other Minnesota school district.
